Dr. Roula Abiad is Assistant Dean and the International Affairs Coordinator of the Faculty of Dentistry at Beirut Arab University (BAU) in Beirut, Lebanon. She also works there as Director of the Endodontic Division and Professor of Endodontology.
Besides her numerous academic and clinical responsibilities, Doctor Abiad is a member of the institution review board IRB at BAU, member of the scientific reviewer board of the International Arab Journal of Dentistry (IAJD), Journal of Orthodontics & Endodontics, and the Journal of the Lebanese Dental Association (JLDA), she is also reviewer for the Journal of Dental Education, Wiley.

Flavio Alves
Grande Rio University
Professor Flávio Alves was born in Petrópolis, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1977. He received his DDS, endodontic certificate, and master’s degree from Estácio de Sá University, Rio de Janeiro, in 1999, 2002, and 2004, respectively. He finished his microbiology and immunology Ph.D. in 2008 at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Since 2020, Dr. Alves has been the General Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Dentistry at the University of Grande Rio (Master’s and Doctorate) and Titular Professor at Iguaçu University. Author of many articles published in the Endodontics field, he has H-index = 29 (SCOPUS).

Teresa Arias Moliz

Dr. Maria Teresa Arias Moliz received her BDS degree in 2003 and her master degree in Microbiology in 2009 from the University of Granada in Spain. In 2010 she completed the PhD degree in Microbiology and Endodontics at the same University. She is currently Assistant Professor in the Department of Oral Microbiology of the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Granada. She has coauthored more than 50 papers in peer-reviewed journals and five book chapters. Dr. Arias Moliz is member of the editorial board of International Endodontic Journal and serves as a referee for several international journals. Her main research interest lies in endodontic microbiology and root canal irrigation.

Nadim Z. Baba
Loma Linda University
Dr. Baba received his DMD degree from the Université de Montréal in 1996. He completed a Certificate in Advanced Graduate Studies in Prosthodontics and a Masters degree in Restorative Sciences in Prosthodontics from Boston University School of Dentistry in 1999. Dr. Baba serves as a Professor in the Advanced Education program in Implant Dentistry at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry, an Adjunct Professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center School of Dentistry in the Comprehensive Dentistry Department, and maintains a part-time private practice in Glendale, CA. He is the Past President of the American College of Prosthodontists and an active member of various professional organizations and a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists and the Academy of Prosthodontics. He is also a reviewer for the Journal of Prosthodontics, the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, Section editor for Prosthodontics in the Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, and was the Associate Editor for the Aesthetics/Prosthetics/Restorative section at the Journal of Dental Traumatology for 11 years.
Dr. Baba has received several honors and awards including: The David J. Baraban Award from Boston University, the Claude R. Baker Faculty award for Excellence in Teaching Predoctoral Fixed prosthodontics in 2009 from the AAFP, and the California dental Association Arthur A. Dugoni Faculty award in 2010.
He is the author of numerous publications and has published a book entitled “Restoration of Endodontically treated teeth: evidence-based diagnosis and treatment Planning” and has lectured nationally and internationally.

Lars Bjornal

Graduated from the University of Copenhagen (1988). Received his PhD covering caries pathology (1992), and Dr. Odont in 2011 with the Thesis entitled: Endodontic treatment: reason, prevention and quality – shaping factors. Received endodontic specialist courses in Sweden (1999-2001), and certified member of ESE since 2001. He has twice hosted the Scandinavian Endodontic Society congress. Past President of the Danish Endodontic Society. Currently, head of Endodontology at the University of Copenhagen. He maintains one day weekly private practice limited to endodontics. He has published numerous articles and book chapters and editor of Textbook of Endodontology, Wiley, 3.ed. ORCID: 0000-0002-2183-6400.

Elisabetta Cotti

Elisabetta received her DDS from the University of Cagliari – Italy and the Specialty Certificate and MS in Endodontics from the University of Loma Linda – California.
She is Full Professor of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, and the Chairman of the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics at the School of Dentistry, University of Cagliari – Italy. She is currently the Dean of the Dental School at the University of Cagliari, Director of the Post Graduate programme (Master) in Clinical Endodontics at the University of Cagliari. She teaches in the Advanced Education Programs in Endodontics at the University of Bologna and is lecturer in the Department of Endodontics at Loma Linda University, US.
Elisabetta is the Treasurer for IFEA, active member of the AAE, of the Italian Association of Endodontics (SIE), Italian Academy of Endodontics (AIE), of the European Association of Endodontology (ESE). She is the Past President of the Italian Society of Dental Traumatology (SIDT). She practices limited to Endodontics, and is the author of several articles and chapters in the field of Endodontics with has a specific interest in apical periodontitis.

Peter Day

Peter qualified from Bristol in 1997. He spent his early years in hospital dentistry, general dental practice and oral and maxillofacial surgery. In 2000, he started his specialist and academic training in Paediatric Dentistry in Leeds. His PhD was in the field of dental trauma. Following this he spent a six-month sabbatical working at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne before taking up a joint academic appointment with University of Leeds and Bradford Community Dental Service.
He is an author of the latest IADT guidelines as well as publishing widely in the field of dental trauma and tooth auto transplantation.

Anibal Diogenes

Dr. Anibal Diogenes received his D.D.S. from UFPE in Brazil, his M.S. in Molecular Biology from the University of Nebraska, and his Ph.D. in Pharmacology and Certificate in Endodontics from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Dr. Diogenes is a tenured professor and Vice-Chair of the department of Endodontics at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He is a Director of the American Board of Endodontics and a standing member of the National Institutes of Health Oral, Dental and Craniofacial study section. His areas of research include: inflammation, pain and regenerative endodontics.

Hal Duncan
Dublin Dental University Hospital, Trinity College Dublin
Undergraduate dentistry, University of Glasgow and his endodontic speciality training in Guy’s Hospital, London. For ten years, worked part-time in specialist referral endodontic practice. PhD in the University of Birmingham on ‘Epigenetic approaches to the role of Histone Deacetylase Inhibitors in promoting dentine-pulp reparative mechanisms. As a Professor and Consultant in Endodontics, he has led endodontic teaching, service delivery and research in Dublin Dental University Hospital (DDUH) for the last 14 years. He has published over 90 international peer-reviewed scientific articles, 50 research abstracts, 20 book chapters as well as editing 2 textbooks. He was the primary author of the recent European Society of Endodontology (ESE) position statement on ‘Management of deep caries and the exposed pulp’ and is the lead of the ongoing ‘ESE S3- level Guidelines for the Treatment of Endodontic Disease’. He is the current Editor-In-Chief of the International Endodontic Journal and on the editorial board of the Journal of Dental Research. He currently maintains a research lab and supervises several clinical and scientifically trained PhD students and postdoctoral researchers in basic and translational pulp biology and endodontics. Currently, within his discipline, he is the Director of Research in the DDUH, the President-Elect of the ESE, a Member of the Executive Board of the ESE as well as a past-president of the Irish Endodontic Society, ex-Chair of the Membership Committee of the ESE and ex-European Representative of the ESE of the Irish Endodontic Society and the Vice-President of the Pulp Biology and Regeneration Group of the IADR and a Board Member of the Pan European Region of the IADR.

Justin Durham
School of Dental Sciences, Newcastle University
Justin is a Professor of Orofacial Pain and Head of School at Newcastle University’s School of Dental Sciences and an Honorary Consultant Oral Surgeon at Newcastle-Upon-Tyne’s Hospitals’ NHS Foundation Trust in the UK. His primary research interests are in orofacial pain both at the first and second translational research gaps. He has wide experience in a variety of methodologies involved in health services research and has received international awards both for clinical and pedagogical research. He is currently the British Dental Association’s Chief Scientific Advisor.

Ikhlas El Karim

Dr El karim Clinical Reader and Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at the School of Medicine Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences Queens University Belfast. She leads a clinical and translational pulp biology research programme in endodontics with a focus on minimal intervention and vital pulp treatments at the Wellcome-Wolfson Institute for Experimental Medicine, Queens University Belfast. Her work contributed to an improved understanding of the neurological and immunological mechanisms in pulpal inflammation and regeneration. She is Associate Editor for the International Endodontic Journal and currently a member of the European Society of Endodontology Steering Group for the development of quality guidelines in endodontics and is a lead for the working group on the treatment of pulpitis.

Luis Ferrandez

Dr. Ferrandez graduated from Madrid in 2009 and completed the MSc in Endodontics at the UCL Eastman Dental Institute in London in 2013. His practice is limited to endodontics at The Endodontic Practice in Poole (UK) since 2014. Luis has published clinical endodontic research in peer-reviewed journals and is involved in further non-surgical and surgical clinical research. He is also a reviewer for endodontic journals and has contributed to the 2nd edition of Pitt Ford’s problem-based learning in Endodontology.

He served on the faculty at University of Connecticut, the University of Maryland, and the University of North Carolina. He is currently Professor and Chair, Department of Endodontics, at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Dr. Fouad has published over 100 peer-reviewed manuscripts, 24 textbook chapters, and 140 abstracts. He edited and co-authored two textbooks. Gabriel Krastl

Gabriel Krastl received his degree in dentistry from the University of Tuebingen, Germany in 1998 and has been a staff member and research associate until 2005. From 2005 to 2014 he was a senior research associate at the Clinic of Periodontology, Endodontology and Cariology in Basel, Switzerland. 2006 he co-founded the interdisciplinary Center of Dental Traumatology at the Basel University. Since 2014 Gabriel Krastl is Professor and chair of the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Periodontology at the University Hospital of Würzburg, Germany and directs the Center of Dental Traumatology which he founded in 2015.
He published more than 150 papers mostly in the field of restorative dentistry, endodontology and dental traumatology and serves as a reviewer and editorial board member in several scientific journals.

Paul Lambrechts

PAUL LAMBRECHTS, Prof. Dr. Dent. is born in 1955. He followed Latin-Greek studies at the ‘St. Jan Bergmanscollege’ of Diest, Belgium. He graduated as a dentist (DDS) in 1978 at the Catholic University of Leuven (K.U.Leuven), Belgium and obtained his PhD at the same university in 1983 based on a thesis investigating dental composites: “Basic properties of dental composites and their impact on clinical performance“. Today, he is Professor Emeritus at the Department of Oral Health Research (K.U.Leuven) and is still involved in the teaching for postgraduate students in endodontology. He was Program Director of the dental Bachelor/Master and Master-after-Master programs at K.U.Leuven for 27 years. He teached cariology, oral aspects of nutrition and endodontics. His research focussed on endodontics. More specifically on the development of a concept of minimal-invasive endodontics, using 3D X-ray Micro-CT scanning, Cone beam CT and Environmental SEM, towards new root-canal preparation and filling techniques. The pathology of external cervical resorption is one of his favourite study topics. A randomized clinical trial on pulp revascularisation is ongoing. In addition, specific interest goes also to laboratory and clinical research on dental composites, actually focussing on 3D-laser-profiling of clinical wear phenomena and biotribocorrosion. Together with Prof. B. Van Meerbeek, he became in 2003 co-holder of the Toshio Nakao Chair for Adhesive Dentistry. He is (co-)promoter of several doctoral dissertations, and (co-) author of numerous publications (346) together with the Leuven BIOMAT Research Cluster (Hirsch-index of 75). He gives scientific and post-academic courses all over the world.

Ariadne Letra

Dr. Ariadne Letra is a Professor in the Departments of Oral and Craniofacial Sciences, Endodontics, and a member of the Centre for Craniofacial and Dental Genetics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. She is a dentist-scientist, with a certificate and MS degree in Endodontics, and a PhD degree in Oral Biology.
Dr. Letra is a member of the American Association of Endodontics (AAE) and former Chair of the AAE Research and Scientific Affairs Committee. Dr Jimmy Makdissi

Dr Makdissi joined the Institute of Dentistry, Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, in 2004 as a Clinical Senior Lecturer and Honorary Consultant in Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology. He directs the Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology programme of the undergraduate BDS curriculum. He completed his specialist training at Guy’s Hospital and obtained the Diploma of Dental Radiology from the Royal College of Radiologists. He has served on the Education Committee of the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology. He has also served as the Dental Tutor for the London Deanery at Barts Health, the Faculty Tutor at the Royal College of Surgeons and as the President of the Metropolitan Branch of the British Dental Association. In addition, he is the founder of the Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) Interpretation Masterclass, providing UK-based CBCT hands-on training along with a collection of e-learning modules. Jimmy has recently completed his PhD on the use of MRI in Dentistry.

Nastaran Meschi

Nastaran became dentist (University of Brussels) in 2006 and she graduated as Master of Science in Endodontology (KU Leuven) in 2012. Since 2014, while exercising exclusively endodontology in private practices in Brussels and Leuven, she is also a part-time researcher in BIOMAT and an instructor (clinical and research) in endodontology at the Department of Oral Health Sciences (KU Leuven). She obtained the degree of Doctor in Biomedical Sciences at the KU Leuven in 2021. So far, Nastaran has published 17 scientific articles in A1 journals, written 2 book chapters and presented her research in several international meetings. Since 2022, she is a member of the European Society of Endodontology Research Committee and Benefits of Endodontics Committee.

Sadia Niazi
Kings College London
Sadia is a Clinical Lecturer/Honorary NHS Consultant in Endodontology at King’s College London, Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. At King’s, she distributes her time between providing service to the GSTT and leading her research group. Apart from training the King’s Endodontics postgraduates, she is the Endodontics Clinical Lead for King’s dental undergraduates.
Sadia qualified as a dentist from Army Medical College (University of Sciences and Technology), Pakistan in 2002. She completed her Master’s in Oral Pathology/Sciences in 2007 from Queen Mary, University of London and subsequently received her PhD in Endodontics (Microbiology) from King’s College London in 2011. Since then, she has worked at King’s in various roles as Post-doc, Clinical Research Associate, Clinical Teacher and Registrar/Academic Clinical Fellow. She completed her specialist training in Endodontology in 2020 and is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Edinburgh.
Her research theme is focused on investigating the Oral Host-Microbiome Interactions to identify diagnostic and prognostic markers of oral diseases and associated systemic risks and exploring novel regenerative treatment approaches to improve the prognosis of challenging cases like Endodontic-periodontal lesions. She is Principal Investigator in the ‘Centre of Oral, Clinical & Translational Sciences’ at King’s College London. She has co-authored multiple publications in high impact scientific journals, written a book chapter, given several talks and chaired sessions/symposiums at various international scientific conferences, and peer review articles for scientific journals. She has supervised research projects for over 25 MClinDent and PhD students. She was awarded the “Inspiration Full-time Clinical Lecturer Award” by the British Endodontic Society in 2022. At King’s utilising state-of-the-art facilities, expertise and support, she is leading a dynamic research team to pursue the novel innovative high impact projects.

Shanon Patel
Kings College London
Shanon divides his time between specialist practice and teaching at King’s College London Dental Institute.
His main research interests are CBCT, root resorption and the restoration of root treated teeth. He has supervised 60+ Masters and PhD students.
Shanon’s background as a clinical academic has resulted in him publishing over 120 papers. He is recognized internationally as a leading authority on 3D (CBCT) imaging and root resorption and was lead author of 3 European Society of Endodontology position statements (CBCT 2014, 2019 and External Cervical Resorption 2018).
Shanon has been invited as a keynote or plenary speaker at over 100 lectures in international meetings spanning 5 continents and has co-authored 4 textbooks which have been translated into 5 different languages.

Carlos Aznar Portoles
Dr. Carlos Aznar Portoles received his BDS from the International University of Catalonia in Spain in 2004. In 2009, he completed an MSc program in endodontics at the same university. In 2014, he completed a postgraduate program in endodontics at the Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam in the Netherlands, (ACTA).
Carlos runs a private practice limited to endodontics and endodontic microsurgery in Haarlem, The Netherlands.
He is the author of several endodontic-related articles and lectures regularly at national and international meetings.

Frank C. Setzer
University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine
Frank C Setzer received the his dental and doctoral degree from the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany in 1995 and 1998; and his Endodontic specialty certificate, MS in Oral Biology and DMD from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA, USA in 2006, 2008, and 2010, respectively. He is currently an Associate Professor of Endodontics at the University of Pennsylvania, serving as Predoctoral Director in Endodontics. His research interests are the clinical detection, prognosis and assessment of periradicular pathology, in particular apical periodontitis, utilizing CBCT imaging and Artificial Intelligence, as well as endodontic microsurgery. Dr. Setzer is a dental faculty member of OKU, a member of the American Association of Endodontists AAE, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics ABE. In addition, he is Associate Editor for Journal of Endodontics and the European Endodontic Journal and serves on several others editorial review boards.

Asgier Sigurdsson

Dr. Sigurdsson is a past President of the International Association for Dental Traumatology as well as past President of the American Board of Endodontics.
Has lectured in 47 countries, on the topics of pain, endodontics, dental trauma and/or forensic sciences. Written or co-written 82 per-reviewed articles and 20 textbook chapters on same topics.

Stéphane Simon

Stéphane Simon is Professor in Oral Biology and Endodontics. He was a teacher at Paris University and moved recently the University of Rouen (Nomandy) where he is teaching Dental development, histology and endodontics.
His private practice is limited to endodontics. He is the author of 7 French books, 8 chapters in international endodontic books, of 62 per reviewed scientific and clinical papers a one hundred of French papers.
His main interests are endodontics and especially the dental pulp preservation and regeneration, and modern technologies and concept for education.
He was the President of the Pulp Biology and regeneration Group of IADR in 2014, and is a member of education comity of European Society of Endodontology.

Nessrin Taha
Jordan University of Science and Technology
Currently is a professor in endodontics and coordinator in the postgraduate endodontic program at Jordan University of Science and Technology, Irbid Jordan. Served as vice dean Faculty of Dentistry, Head of department of conservative dentistry, and head of examination committee of the Jordan board in Endodontics.
Attained her Graduate Diploma (GradDipClinDent), Clinical Doctorate in Endodontics (DClinDent) and PhD from the University of Melbourne, Australia.
She is a Member of the Royal College of Ireland and a fellow of the Royal Australian College of Dental Surgeons in both general dentistry and the special field of Endodontics. Received Sutherland prize from the Royal College for outstanding achieving in the examination, and Victorian women dentist award or outstanding female dentist in the Australian Dental Council examination.
Research interests include; decision making in endodontics, calcium silicate-based materials, regenerative endodontics and vital pulp therapy. Lectured internationally on the topic with several published clinical research papers and a book chapter. She serves in the editorial board and reviewers’ panel of several international indexed journals.

Phil Tomson

Birmingham, UK. His current research interests lie in tissue regeneration /
engineering of the dental pulp and clinical outcomes in vital pulp therapy. He

MEndo RCS Eng examination, a member of the Editorial Board of the International
Endodontic Journal and is Honorary Secretary for the British Endodontic
Society. He has won several awards including the Wladimir Adlivankine ESE
research prize and a prestigious FDS research fellowships from the RCS of
England.

Mitsuhiro Tsukiboshi
Tsukiboshi Dental Clinic
Dr. Tsukiboshi has been a general practitioner for more than 40 years and has been interested in dental traumatology and autotransplantation of teeth, which has led to extensive clinical involvement, course presentations and publications. Dr. Tsukiboshi has lectured extensively on dental trauma and transplantation; he has authored many articles and two textbooks, one on dental trauma and one on transplantation. The books have been published in more than 12 languages, including English. Dr. Tsukiboshi is the President of the International Association of Dental Traumatology in 2009 and 2010 and was rewarded with ‘Jens Ove Andreasen Lifetime Achievement Award in dental Traumatology’ in 2018.

Matthias Zehnder
University of Zurich
Matt Zehnder graduated from the University of Bern School of Dental Medicine. Subsequently, he worked part-time in private practice and in a cell biology research lab. He then was employed at the Department of Oral Biology and Periodontology, Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine, and subsequently was trained at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine to become a certified endodontist. Matt received a PhD degree from Turku University (Finland) in 2005. Currently, he is the tenured head of the Division of Endodontology at the Clinic of Conservative and Preventive Dentistry, University of Zurich.
